Human-IST (Human Centered Interaction Science and Technology) aims to develop and evaluate new interface technologies that are usable, useful, and appealing to a broad section of people, and compatible with sustainability criteria. It is dedicated to research and training in Human-Centered Digitalisation and Interaction Science & Technology combining expertise coming from several disciplines such as computer science, psychology, law and sociology.
The Human-IST Research Center was established in 2015 thanks to the support of the University of Fribourg Foundation. The creation of this Center aligns with the University of Fribourg's profile due to its strongly interdisciplinary nature, as well as with current needs and reflections on the role of new technologies in our societies, by placing a principal focus on the human element.
Human-IST was created in 2015, thanks to our faithful donors, in particular Willi Liebherr and Gustav Stenbolt. With the great vision to support a human-centric digitalization of service public services, in 2017 Swiss Post joined as an important development partner of the Institute.
At Human-IST we are committed to conducting research that allows us to develop cutting-edge solutions that address current problems more comprehensively and truthfully. We are convinced that with the right partners and our team of researchers and scientists, our goal of creating technologies that enable the development of a more sustainable society is possible.
