Study trip to Vietnam
Thanks to a generous donation from a donor who wishes to remain anonymous, the Chair of International Management was able to offer its students a trip to Vietnam. It was only thanks to this financial contribution that the students were able to take part in the study trip to Asia. This was a very educational event and a unique experience during their studies.
Overview of the study trip
The aim of the study trip was to give students a better understanding of business in South-East Asia, as this region is one of the fastest-growing economic areas in the world.
As part of this, the students spent two weeks in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi with Professor Dirk Morschett (Chair for International Management). They visited various companies and gained insights into their business models. In addition to Swiss companies such as Cicor, Sika and Nestlé, Vietnamese companies such as The Cocoa Project, Bao Minh Textile and Techcom Bank were also on the agenda. They also spent several days at Vietnamese universities, where they had the opportunity to meet Vietnamese professors and gain insights from them. In Hanoi, they were welcomed at the residence of Swiss Ambassador Thomas Gass. The Swiss students were particularly impressed by the dynamism, motivation and ambition of the Vietnamese people.
Such a study trip involves considerable costs, including expenses for hotels, bus transport, tour guides, organisation by a local agency, and domestic flights between Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi. For most of the students, participation in this trip would not have been possible without this financial contribution. We would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere thanks to the sponsor, without whom this project could not have been realised.
