Digital ethics

An inevitable challenge

Our world is becoming increasingly digital. Consequently, amid climatic, economic and societal challenges, there is an urgent need for ethical guidelines in the digital environment.

This research project aims to develop a digital sustainability standard and integrate it into the societal debate and into practice.

The research project consists of three phases:

  • Develop a comprehensive concept of sustainable digitisation standards by using recognised concepts and standards in the field of ethics, and by considering how they can be linked to specific algorithms.
  • Institutionalise the standard for commercial use and evaluation with partners from the industry and the government.
  • Ensure the implementation of this sustainable digitisation standard, both by creating a recognised label and by promoting exchanges between the political, economic and academic worlds.
